Systematic Review of Wilderness Therapy Programs
Wilderness therapy is a form of private therapeutic program that takes place outdoors. It is intended to assist pupils in developing coping techniques, social skills, and self-awareness. However, the high rates of maltreatment and negligence in outdoor counseling have been criticized. Participants in several instances, including Aaron Bacon and Ryan Lewis, have died. Wilderness treatment includes people being challenged to accomplish objectives and collaborate while promoting dialogue, transparency, self-examination, and relationship skills. This promotes collaboration and coordination and teaches problematic teenagers how to collaborate with others in a secure and nurturing setting.
